"Talking about ourselves is simply the most absurd thing in the world!
We never talk about our flaws..."
Following this thought, I can't say much... :)
I can say, for example:
- What is UNF??? And why TheUnF.net?
UNF is a tribute to the song "The Unforgiven" by the band METALLICA.
This nickname was initially used on the Internet Relay Chat, mainly on the
#bahia channel. Speaking of #bahia, visit a dream of mine realized in
the form of a virtual site, www.ircbahia.com.br.
Unfortunately, I stepped away from the site's administration due to work and it may be
inactive at the moment.
To have a website, I first tried UNF.NET or UNF.COM but since they already existed at the
time and were too similar to the University of North Florida (unf.edu), I added the
"The" and that's how it is today.
P.S.: All the other strange names that may appear on
my pages are nicknames used on IRC by other
"IRC addicted individuals"
- Where do I currently live and work?
I have been living and working in São Paulo since 2003.
Before São Paulo, 2 years in Rio de Janeiro and 3 years in Luanda, Angola.
- What do I do for a living?
Since I can remember, I've liked machines and
technology. When it was time to choose a profession, I was
torn between Chemical Engineering, Architecture, and Computer Science. I eventually chose Computer Science.
Since the beginning of college, I've been drawn to networking and it's my primary area of
expertise with a total focus on the Internet, Security, and operating systems.
In 1995, I started a partnership with friends to found Interligue Internet Provider.
In 1996, Interligue merged with CPU Teleinfomática to form CPUnet Internet Provider where
I continued to work as Technical Manager until mid-1997. I was
responsible for the Technical Management of the entire system, as well
as supervisory work on the construction of web pages.
In 1997, motivated by a desire to radically change my life, I accepted
an invitation from Consulte
Conectividade to work as a network consultant with a focus on Internet,
Intranet, NT and Unix. There, I obtained the Microsoft Certified Professional (NT Specialist) certification.
In 1998, I worked in Angola managing the internet backbone for Odebrecht Angola
and was responsible for the IT area of the Projetos Luanda Sul.
Starting in April 2001, I joined the Information Infrastructure team at the Odebrecht Headquarters,
with a primary focus on evaluating and managing the IP backbone and security services.
- What do I enjoy doing in my free time?
Outside of work, I try to disconnect from computers, even though people
are always asking me about them... and I always end up fiddling with them :(
I really like computers, they're calm, they don't complain about working from dawn to dusk... they don't have salaries :))), etc.
I like listening to music and dancing, but only accompanied or in a group.
I'm very shy in that regard... I'd rather be in the middle of a bunch of people jumping around during Carnival,
than in a club dancing on a semi-empty dance floor :)
Speaking of Carnival... that's something I love. I dance until I can't dance anymore... IT'S GREAT!
I like The Corrs, Kid Abelha, Bush, Coldplay, Eagle Eye Cherry, Goo Goo Dools, Nickleback, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Linkin Park, Eminem, Evanescence, Metallica, Titãs, etc. Even forró shows and Axé Music during Carnival!
